Magic Ball/Persian Poppy colour - 1 day Knitting workshop

Enjoy a one day creative knitting workshop with Brandon Mably from the Kaffe Fassett Design Studio. This workshop is for knitters who are interested in sharpening their colour observation in design. Each workshop is limited to 25 students.

Participants should know how to knit and purl – only the basic stocking stitch will be used in the workshop. This course inspires knitters to sharpen their observation of colour by working with a range of light and dark colours in contrasting tones.

The experience gained should give knitters the confidence to use their own personal colour scheme in any of their own designs in the future....

Content of Workshop

Brandon Mably will give an introduction to the Persian Poppy/ Magic Ball design. He will have students work from a basic given graph which he will provide. Class participants should bring to class a selection of 6 light or bright colors for the poppy plus 6 dark or deeper colors for the background.

There should be extra colors of yarn available so that Brandon can help students with other choices of colors. Brandon will demonstrate the method of carrying yarn in fairisle and intarsia knitting and then work with students as they apply the technique to their own knitting.

Lunch and coffee breaks to be provided during the day.

Brandon will bring samples of his knitted designs.
